This picture was taken as we began our walk around this sacred mountain After a short distance, Karma Senge Rinpoche showed us the site where Choygam Trungpa Rinpoche (CTR) discovered a precious "terma casket" which he said was made from the bodhichittta of Guru Rinpoche and Yeshe Tsogyal. Nineteen year old Trungpa Rinpoche, while surrounded by many witnesses, dug into the mountain and removed this "terma casket" of Pabmasambhava's teachings and prophesies. Karma Senge said that when the terma was removed, there was a clap of thunder followed by out of season rain. Everyone was amazed and many people began to cry. Karma Senge had parts of the "terma casket" in his possession and showed them to us. It told of the Chinese taking control of Tibet and some other stories which Trungpa describes in his book about Pabmasambhava, called "Crazy Wisdom". Trungpa Rinpoche said that circumambulating this mountain is like invoking Guru Rinpoche in person. |
